Handle your cell phone and other appliance addiction when in the presence of your children. I know that is a tall order for many of us since the very definition of an addict is ‘one who is physiologically dependent upon a drug(in this case appliances)’, ‘one who abandons oneself to something compulsively or obsessively’. I cringe to think we are that weak.

We really are not that weak. We are non-thinking, un’conscious’! Snap out of it!

I observe sweet little faces aged 1 to 10 glazed over as they watch or otherwise suck in neglect as their parents give their undivided(our brains can only do one thing at a time) attention to an appliance! Feel that sick sensation of knowing that these children are themselves slowly being marginalized and rendered into robotitrons themselves, that they are being rendered into people who have lost touch with their core humanity and can’t tell the difference between what is right and what is wrong in relationship to other people(check the news).
Our children need us. We need them! We need each other! Appliances, though they have people speaking through them, are NOT to be given priority over a HUMAN in your physical presence. HUMAN physical presence is ten times the blessing of a human over an appliance (unless the human over the appliance is about to save your life). Human physical presence is in itself the presence of the most direct Heat of Love. It is to be cherished in form and substance.
Can you see that appliance addiction is something we MUST handle?
