Family Holidays Rock!!!

Family holidays rock!!! SOOooo much love displayed. I heartily encourage us all to spread the love around and nurture it all year long! I’ll do my part. Will you do it with me? What will we harvest at the end of the year of all of us engaging EVERYONE in a loving way?
Let’s all love each other every day like we’re the most special people in the world – the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker. Your neighbor, the ones who cut us off on the freeway, the grocery clerk, the vet. Send, give love to them as I give it to you now and always. WHAT an endeavor! Will you do it with me?
Please answer in the comments below. Will you help me compound the love of why family holidays rock?

Art Paintings of Mine ~ Rowena Starling

Art paintings of mine that I call ‘Soulscapes’ (a concept I copyrighted in 1997) start this slide show put together for me by A Band of Women (we were once ‘wives’, you should check us out). Like many other parents, I have a side that others don’t see. Sharing this side of me with you again this season.
I do these oil paintings as custom pieces from an interview that I have with the individual. Two of them (#5 & #6 above in the slide show) are sold. If the other Soulscapes in the show resonate with you they are available to you or you can commission your own custom piece for 40% off until December 31st. They range in price from $2,880 (20″x24″) to $13,000 (44″ x 38″). That’s $2,440 to $6.500 respectively until 12/31.
Hope you enjoy, then message me to order yours at Rowena@saveyourbreath101.com!

Test Prep Sanity (Guest Blog from Elie Venezky)

Standardized test are coming and with them comes stress and anxiety, both for the student and his or her parents. Too often, good parents do exactly the wrong things that push their child away from studying. It doesn’t have to be that way. Test time doesn’t have to create tension and drama in the home.
I wrote Test Prep Sanity: How to help your child excel on standardized test without driving each other crazy to help parents create the right home environment for their children’s success. In this book, I use my 14 years of experience to show parents how to encourage personal responsibility and growth while keeping everyone as relaxed as possible.
Test Prep Sanity is a must-read for every parent whose child is taking a standardized test. It shows parents everything they need to help their children succeed, including:
– When to start preparing
– How to find the best tutor for your child
– When to register for the exam and which books to buy
– How to make sure your child studies without constant supervision
– How to talk about the test with your child
– How to handle complaining
– What to do if your child won’t study
– What to do, eat and wear on test day
– When to expect results
– How to improve test scores on subsequent tests
Standardized test shouldn’t turn homes into battlegrounds. I’m asking you to help me promote Test Prep Sanity for it’s November 27th release date. It’s available on amazon.com. With your help, we can reduce the pressure of standardized test while increasing communication and personal responsibility for students. Parents want to help their kids-let’s give them the help they need.

Attitude of Gratitude/Adjustment

Looking for good attitudes. That’s all we want. “Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.” ~Chuck Swindoll. Have your children and teens know NOW that HOW they meet disappointment influences how happy they are.

Night Sweats…just a note

Crap! Up ’til 4:30am…because the work had to be done! Fortunately, I could sleep in ’til 10. Something you get to do again once the kids are grown. Meditation must be engaged in earnest to help re-balance. Work, menopause or otherwise…How do you handle the unexpected (or expected) late night sweats?
