Myth #1 Repetition creates change. Truth: Right repetition creates change!
Contact constant with the same verbal disciplinary content is boring and tedious! …to adults! Children can obviously hear you say ‘it’ over and over and over again because their free spirits and near empty heads give wing to noise. There’s nothing in there initially to hold or block the exit of your voice commands, er, requests from going in one ear and out the other!
“Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion.” ~ Jim Rohn
When the washing machine was invented, we stopped washing most of our clothing by hand. When the dishwasher was invented, we stopped washing most of our dishes by hand. When schools cropped up all over the land, we sent our kids to school instead of home schooling them! Why? Because with all we have to do day to day, it was and still is too much to have to do ALL of that on our own when help is available!
“Constant repetition carries conviction.” ~ Robert Collier
Same deal with having to say the same things 10,000 or more times yourself when you can have the:
Save Your Breath sometimes for saying the warm and loving things your family longs to hear. We quite literally need to save our breath on at least a couple of levels, environmentally and in our relationships. I’m talking about CLEAR communication in relationships and for the moment, dealing with children.
After hearing selections from the Save Your Breath CD a few times, I only had to ask my Son ONCE to do what I needed for him to do! He quite simply did not want me to have to put that thing(the CD) on…. and significant stress was alleviated from my nerves! This constant repetition of saying it over and again yourself is a stressful activity that has been passed on from generation to generation.
Please tell me now in the comments below… Is it right for you to have to say it 10,000 times over a decade when it can be done by these technology gifts?
